![]() ![]() So that same – or at least similar – AE is what I wanted in a Leica. The Leica M6 just hadn’t suited me as well as the auto-exposure R2a. I thought briefly about buying one again before settling on the idea of the M7, but in the end that lack of regret pushed me in the direction of an M7. The funny thing was, I never really regretted selling the Leica M6. The R2A became the only rangefinder I then owned for a good few years until finally I jumped ship back to Leica and bought a Leica M7. #Leica m7 for sale Patch#Then, through a patch of using my rangefinders less about 5 years ago I ended up selling the Leica M6 and keeping the Voigtlander. I had one some time ago – way before 35mmc – that I bought to use along side a Voigtlander R2A. It's the perfect machine. As I’ve mentioned a fair few times on here before, the Leica M6 is a camera I’ve owned before. I'm sure the Leica M9 is state of the art, and the M7 does more, and more easily, but I like the all-mechanical quality of the MP. It will make you throw your digital camera through a window. But if all you want is to look at it and pretend to shoot with it, go for that, too. I have owned three Leica M6's, several R's and the Leica CL (which I still own) and the Leica MP is the best of the best. The black paint is too delicate and the tarted up models that people can have custom made are silly and are the equivalent of buying a red tux. My advice is to go for the standard silver model. I'm not sure people who have shot nothing but digital for the past five years will be even prepared for its solidity and weight. Add the Leicavit and a 90mm lens and you will be invincible. And if you are ever attacked and need to kill someone, you have a ready weapon dangling from your neck. It is THE M camera - the quintessence of the M line. Like the 6 its mechanical in all but the light meter but its overall fit-and-finish is superior to the 6, as are the materials. But the MP is just one solid degree better than the old M6. And the view through the viewfinder will stun photographers used to the grainy, jumpy electronic viewfinders of so many digital cameras. It does a lot LESS than most film cameras but it's a total joy to shoot with. But for those fearless few who actually have the nerve to use it, the fact is it really does deliver the goods. It's so beautiful and feels so good in hand that it has become the paperweight of choice for a lot of camera buffs. ![]() The Leica M is probably the hardest working camera that doesn't get used. Therefore, don't break your back to get a Leica M. Few of my favorite photos are shot with cheap/old cameras (Canon, Zenith.). 7)Simple to use 8)One focus point (no need for more if you can visualize where the focal plane is and its depth) 9)Uncluttered viewfinder (Not TTL, but again not a problem if you can visualize the DOF)īeing a long time photographer, I just want to mention that it is not all about the camera. #Leica m7 for sale pro#5)Manual Focus (I cannot imagine a pro photographer shooting with auto-focus) 6)Aperture Priority mode (Exposure always spot on). So here I am with this beauty with no regrets.ġ)Beautifully Designed 2)Solid Manufacturing 3)Small Size 4)Lots of lenses available at all price ranges (Voigtlander, Zeiss, SLR Magic, Leica, which by the way all are good for film photography). I guess he could feel how badly I wanted the camera. The gentleman I bought it from, dropped down the price to let me have it. Finlay, I decided to bite the bullet and get it. ![]()
